CHI-VILLAGE PROGRAMS
Chi-Village programs support local businesses and creative enterprises contributing to economic empowerment and the advancement of the African Diaspora.
A workshop focused on bringing "#ChiVillageKids" together annually for a wellness check-in. #ChiVillageKids are encouraged to explore new spiritual healing tools and practices, holistic health regimens, and participate in wellness workshops.
In August 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Chi-Village was founded after hosting a small free festival for the community to pay homage to their ancestors, honor elders in the village, and share their talents & gifts.
In 2021 the "Viberaiser" was launched. The program is designed to strengthen reciprocal interaction between emotional, mental, and physical health throughout African diasporic communities in the Chicagoland area. The Viberaiser provides individuals with a sensory stimulating and soul stirring experience showcasing African diasporic culture, art forms, local businesses, and health practitioners.
The Chi-Village Inaugural Kwanzaa Celebration captures the essence of unity, self-determination, and cultural pride. Set against the backdrop of the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Stadium, it's a bridge connecting our vibrant community to the enduring legacy of Dr. Conrad Worrill and the forward-looking vision of Chi-Village. In honoring the principles Dr. Worrill championed, our Kwanzaa program is dedicated to nurturing Black Liberation, safeguarding our rich cultural heritage, and advocating for economic empowerment within our community. Be on the lookout for information about the 2024 Kwanzaa Celebration.
